The problem with life

Here’s the problem with life...

You work really hard your whole life so you can lay back and really relax — but by the time you get to retire you can’t sleep past 4.30am.

By then, you have enough time and money to go out and dance and party and have fun, but dancing makes your hips hurt and you can’t drink because of your bung liver and you don’t like to stay out late — because, remember, you just can’t sleep past 4.30am.

You have lived a good life and would like to be rewarded by going to heaven — but what is heaven?

Sitting on all those clouds sound relaxing — but for all eternity?

And if everyone is always going to be nice to each other all the time — well, that sounds like it could get awfully boring.

And anyway, what if there is no heaven? What if there is no God?

Does that mean you were nice to all those creeps and a***holes for nothing?

And if there is a God, and he (or she or it) created everything — well then, who in the love of God created God?

And if there was no God — who on Earth did create everything?

I hear that the wheelchair physicist, Stephen Hawkings, says everything was created from a singularity — so who created the singularity?

But if there was no creator at all, that means that everything must always have been around — for forever.

Or does it?

Some people say that, somehow, everything was created by no-one out of nothing.

But what does nothing look like? It is white … or black … or just … like ... nothing? Can you imagine nothing?

That’s the problem with life —  you just can’t imagine why you're here at all.

Because it just doesn’t make any sense.

But then again,  in a way, that’s kind of cool.
