Messages of intolerance: the slippery slope

By | | comments |

Consider carefully the campaign against asylum seekers, says Barry Everingham. As Edmund Burke said, ‘The only thing necessary for evil to the triumph is for good men to do nothing'.

Cory Bernardi (Right-wing Liberal Senator): In the past decade or two there has been “an increasing indulgence of people who are pursuing an ideology and a values system that is at complete odds with Western society and Western culture. Islam is the problem; it’s not the Muslims”.

Tony Abbott (Opposition Leader): “In suggesting that Islam itself is the problem, Cory does not represent my  views”.

Scott Morrison (Shadow Immigration Spokesman): “Those who perished on Christmas Island should have been buried on Christmas Island”. It has been reported (leaked to the media) this Christian Liberal suggested the Libs should go all out to divide the country on racial grounds!

Andrew Bolt (Herald Sun columnist, Liberal Party publicist): Muslims here are more than twice as likely as the rest of us to be without work – their imprisonment rates are higher. As bigger this community gets the bigger is the threat!

Adolph Hitler (Despot /monster): "Men and Women of Germany! It was the Jews in our midst who orchestrated the campaign 'of hate and lies' against Germany (in the United States). Show the Jews that they cannot drag Germany’s honour into the mire without being punished for it."
