Dr William Briggs is a political economist whose special areas of interest lies in political theory. He has been, variously, a teacher, journalist, and political activist.
He returned to full-time study in 2013, completing a MA in International Relations from Deakin University and a PhD in 2018.
Since then he has authored three books, Classical Marxism in an Age of Capitalist Crisis (Routledge 2019), Removing the Stalin Stain (Zero Books 2020) and A Cauldron of Anxiety (Zero Books 2021). He has has just completed a new book, China, the USA and Capitalism’s Last Crusade.
Decades later he completed a PhD that defended classical Marxist theory. He lives in Melbourne, Australia, where he is affiliated to Deakin University.
