ALEX HIPGRAVE is a writer and is principally concerned with social and political issues. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at Edith Cowan University, majoring in literature and writing.
His views and aspirations were initially formed in his late teens by protest songs, reading about the civil rights movement and closely following the presidential campaigns of Bernie Sanders. Some of his favourite writers include John Steinbeck, Naomi Klein, Christopher Hitchens and Phil Ochs.
Despite being Australian and having never been to the United States of America, Alex considers his main areas of interest to be American history, politics and literature. He lives in Western Australia.
