POEM: They're killing the trees

They're killing the trees

They're killing the trees and the birds and the bees,

They're killing every form that breathes

For the power and gold that feeds their foul greed!

Our cries of distress and desperate pleas

For a world that is fair and living and green,

Fall to deaf ears unheard and unseen,

As profit from poison is the oligarch's scheme!
