The Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) is pleased to announce that it has made a significant contribution towards the Green Skills Scholarship Fund operated by TAFE NSW.
Historically, the Carbon Reduction Institute has sourced employees of the highest calibre; a large majority of whom are from overseas. Two of CRI's sustainability engineers are from China and Mexico respectively, with additional members of the CRI team from The United Kingdom. With respect to the increase in corporate social responsibility and growing sustainability agenda, CRI wishes to contribute towards developing domestic labour pools with the end goal of sourcing highly qualified Australians.
There is growing pressure on individuals and businesses to develop green skills to allow them participate in an Australian Low Carbon Economy. Green collar jobs are expected to boom as sustainable living practices evolve ‐ meaning new skill sets are required to provide environmental expertise in Land Management, Building Design & Construction, Business Services and Manufacturing. The Green Skills Scholarship Fund provides individuals with the appropriate funding to participate in TAFE operated courses to help narrow the knowledge gap between business and sustainability, in addition to strengthening Australia's green economy.
By contributing to this fund, The Carbon Reduction Institute is providing individuals with an additional point of entry into Australia's job market. The Green Skills Scholarship Fund, backed by companies such as CRI, helps to generate a range of programs and strategies to help organisations, local businesses and the community work towards greener production and consumption.
