Prashant Bhatia is currently in his final semester of Masters in Global Media and Communications at the University of Melbourne. He is an ambassador for the Faculty of Arts, a representative for the Graduate Student Association and a member of the University’s Selection Procedures Committee. He received the Mary Antoinette Richardson Prize for the highest achieving graduating student and worked as a researcher and university tutor in Economics and International Finance. He created his own podcast series, Quality Talk, where he interviewed social influencers — lawyers, sports, political personalities and education professionals, to reach out to a wider community of listeners.
Prashant is a volunteer speaker for Beyondblue, a national organisation that works to raise awareness about anxiety and depression, reduce the associated stigma and encourage people to get help. He has shared his lived experience of managing his mental health at events held at schools, local councils and universities. He is also the Corporate Engagement Lead for GLOBE Melbourne – a community organisation, working to connect LGBTIQ+ professionals in an inclusive way.
He loves interviewing, researching and writing about matters of social and political relevance.
