Md. Nafis Anowar Santo

Md. Nafis Anowar Santo completed both his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with Honours from the University of Dhaka.

He is a regular contributor to The Daily Star, where he writes on legal, human rights, and public policy issues, and was the winner of the International Human Rights Day Write-up Competition 2023, organised by Law & Our Rights, The Daily Star. He also contributes to Dhaka Stream, The Friday Times, and Bangladesh Law Digest (BDLD), and serves as a Guest Author for The Dallas Express.

He has been duly enrolled as an Advocate by the Bangladesh Bar Council and is licensed to practise law throughout Bangladesh before any Court, Tribunal, or revenue authority subordinate to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

Previously, he served as an Editor at the Dhaka University Law and Politics Review, where he edited articles and led coordination of the Bangla Wing. He also worked as a Feature Writer at Roar Media, publishing over forty articles on a wide range of contemporary national and international issues.

He has successfully completed an 8-week certificate course on ‘Refugee Law and Protection of Refugees and other Persons of Concern to UNHCR’, organised by the UNHCR Representation in Bangladesh.
