Matthew Coscia was previously employed in the gaming industry for a number of years. Through his experience within the industry, he witnessed first hand the behaviour, thinking and consequent effects of a problem gambler. Using the information gained through talking to gamblers, he developed a pro active yet cost efficient approach to help combat problem gambling.
Matthew decided to start raising awareness of problem gambling almost 10 years ago while still working in the industry when he noticed that most of the help services available offered a "reactive approach such offering help only once a gambler was out of control. Having witnessed people destroying the lives on a daily basis as a result of problem gambling or a lack of understanding of how the machines worked, he decided to act and started a campaign.
Matthew also has a Gambling Awareness Facebook page that can be found here.
