Emma Softly is the President of SWEAR WA (Sex Work Education, Advocacy & Rights Western Australia), Western Australia's peer sex worker organisation. SWEAR WA is completely led and run by volunteer peers, and provides peer support, peer & community education, advocacy, industry social events, referrals to sex worker friendly services, outreach, and lobby for the decriminalisation of sex work in WA.
Emma was recently a guest speaker at a Medical Symposium at Notre Dame University, has featured on WA community radio discussing the stigma and mental health of sex workers, and will be representing WA at the 2019 National Forum held by the peak Australian sex worker association, Scarlet Alliance, in November.
