Chris Haviland is a former Federal Labor MP. He was the member for Macarthur in the Keating Government from 1993 to 1996, having previously served as a Campbelltown City Councillor from 1987.
Chris was also the Labor candidate for Bradfield in 2013 and 2019. At the 2019 election Labor achieved a +4.5% swing in Bradfield.
Chris is a 40 year member of the ALP and is a member of the Party’s NSW Administrative Committee, and Secretary of the Hornsby Branch.
Chris was employed in the Federal Public Service for over 20 years. He is a passionate advocate and campaigner for social justice and equality, and against discrimination and corruption.
Chris is a former district cricketer in both Sydney and Perth, and is a district cricket umpire. Chris has been a member of the Sydney Swans AFL club since 1995.
Chris is self employed as a mathematics tutor. He has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
