If it wasn't for an Independent Australia's investigation by deputy editor Sandi Keane, CSG miner Santos is likely to have been able to pull off a sneaky con job on the Australian community, says Liverpool Plains farmer Rosemary Nankivell.
I SUPPORT Independent Australia because I'm a fan of independent investigative journalism.
I think that when the mainstream media is totally occupied with stories that are breaking, such as what's happening in ICAC, there are many stories of critical importance to people all over ... that are overlooked.
So, in our example, we had Santos claiming that they had formed a great liaison with farmers in the North West when nothing could be further from the truth.

It was an independent investigative journalist, Sandi Keane, who actually put the story out as it was. It was later picked up mainstream journalism and became a good story in itself.
This is critical for many, many stories that need to be out there that aren't exactly what mainstream media normally look into.
