Save Our Spit

Save Our Spit Alliance is a not-for profit community alliance of Gold Coasters committed to preserving the Gold Coast Spit and the Broadwater both now and for future generations. 

SOSA is hundred per cent run by volunteers for our community. SOSA has no staff or rented premises, nor does it reimburse our volunteers for any monies expended for SOSA (e.g. air fares, petrol, mobile phone usage etc) except in rare and special circumstances, approved by its Committee.

SOSA showed that community support can be successful after the Beattie/Bligh government proposed a Cruise Terminal on the Spit in 2005. However SOSA is not going to stop until it is permanently protected from the whims of successive interests.
