Ranald Macdonald AO is the founder of the Australian Press Council and former CEO and editor-in-chief of The Age.
A journalist, media executive, broadcaster and educator, Ranald also served as the Chairman of the Boston University College of Communication Department of Journalism.
In 1981, Ranald prompted the Victorian Government to establish the Norris Inquiry into press ownership in Victoria.
