Raffaele Ciriello

  • Dr Raffaele F Ciriello holds a BSc in Information Systems from the University of Stuttgart and an MSc and PhD from the University of Zurich (2017). He is a Senior Lecturer in Business Information Systems at the University of Sydney, specialising in compassionate digital innovation. 

    Raffaele's work focuses on the ethical design, governance and use of emerging technologies, including AI, blockchain and social media. Combining qualitative research and dialectical inquiry, he addresses ethical dilemmas in sociotechnical change, emphasising the common good. 

    Raffaele collaborates with academia, industry and NGOs, has mentored over 45 graduate students, and is a Distinguished Member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS). He also edits the Debates section of Communications of the AIS.
