Jim Tilley was born in June 1938 in Isleworth Middlesex.
He was educated at Latymer Upper Secondary School London and then went on to obtain a BA [Hons] Geography and Economics at the University of Wales.
Tilley also served in the RN Service as an Instructor Lieutenant for 3 years.
Professional qualifications are ACIS. ACMA. FCPA.
Jim Tilley migrated to Australia 1971 to work for John Lysaght [Australia] Ltd and held various Management accounting positions in the BHP/Lysaght organisation, finally as Financial Controller/Manager for BHP Building and Civil Products a Division of BHP Steel.
He retired in 1999 and has spent most of his retirement campaigning to overturn the UK Government’s immoral, unjust, unfair frozen pension policy, presently as Hon Chairman British Pensions in Australia and Director of the International Consortium of British Pensioners.
