Jaime de Loma-Osorio Ricon is a community worker, currently working as the Deputy CEO of Banksia Gardens Community Services in Broadmeadows, where he started volunteering as a mathematics tutor 14 years ago. Through years of direct service delivery, Jaime has acquired some expertise in the areas of youth engagement, education and community development. He is still highly involved in many of the organisation's youth and education programs and such as the Banksia Gardens Study Group, the holiday program and Project REAL, an initiative that supports upper primary school-aged children who are severely disengaged from education.
Jaime’s interests are quite diverse and include social and environmental issues, science and languages. He is extremely passionate about social justice and a strong advocate of trauma responsive practice and neuroscience. Jaime believes that everyone who works with children should have at least a basic understanding of these fields.
