Chris Maher


  • 1346038641Chris Maher has spent 21 years living and working in the Kimberley.  His professional career has spanned the public service and private enterprise.

    In his early years in the Kimberley he managed services to people with disabilities across the region for the state government. More recently he has started 2 small businesses employing local people. One business is in art the other in Information Technology.

    He served a term on the Broome Shire Council from 2005 to 2009 and was motivated to run for the Greens because he believes there is currently an attack on democracy in the Kimberley with the state government forcing an unwanted industrial mega-development on the community.

    He believes that local people should make local decisions and stands for strengthening local government to look after the interests of all sections of the community.

     Chris is the Kimberley candidate for the Greens WA in the 2013 State election.
