Dr M. Adil Khan is a Professor of Development Practice at the School of Social Sciences, University of Queensland, Brisbane (Australia) and former Chief of Socio-Economic Governance and Management Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), New York.
Professor Khan possesses more than 35 years of experience in international development, participatory governance and public policy; he has been a visiting professor/guest lecturer at leading universities of USA, Canada and Asia and has undertaken numerous consultancies advising governments around the globe in development management; he is the recipient of the 2005 UN Manager of the Year and the 2008 Plaque of Recognition Award for championing the work of participatory governance in UN.
Professor Khan has published extensively in areas of governance and development including books, monographs and peer reviewed articles in leading international journals. Prof.Khan also writes regularly op-ed articles in newspapers and on-line media outlets on burning social and political issues.
