Carbon Tax Syndrome is the new Wind Turbine Syndrome

By | | comments |

Anti-renewables campaigners now allege there are over 100 scientifically unproven “symptoms” of what they call “Wind Turbine Syndrome”. Environment editor Sandi Keane says there are likely to be as many apocryphal complaints about “Carbon Tax Syndrome” in the very near future.

KIDS off the wall? Dog planning a coup? Whales migrating?  Astonishingly, these are some of the less bizarre claims against wind farms collected by Australia’s very own Lord High Executioner of Flim Flammery and Master Debunker of Arrant Nonsense, Prof Simon Chapman. The Prof has compiled a record of diseases, symptoms and aberrant behaviour which leads to so-called “Wind Turbine Syndrome” or “WTS”.

The team at Indy Oz has already started recording the first signs of “Carbon Tax Syndrome”.  For instance, just yesterday in Parliament, Senator George Brandis blamed the carbon tax –(not the internet, or even the loss of classified ads revenue) for job losses at Fairfax yesterday.

We confidently predict an epidemic of this particularly nasty scourge, delivered by the same loony enviro-nazis who cursed us with “WTS”.

We recommend following our editor, Dave Donovan (@davrosz) for regular updates!

“Be alert but not alarmed”, as our former PM Howard said.

There is pretty well nothing that isn’t caused by wind farms…
so the sky’s the limit on carbon tax — surely the King of the Nasties.

"Clown counsel" Senator George Brandis - spreading fear and hilarity.

Here’s a list of ‘Wind Turbine Syndrome’ examples to help you to develop your full potential as a ‘CTS-spotter’.

1.Accelerated aging “My wife and I have aged over five years in the past two years”

The other weird thing we noticed is that one of his dogs would try to squeeze itself between the lounge cushions to sleep, and the other dog would climb under the bed in the corner.  Or they would sit for hours, staring at the wall.”  “once-active dogs spent their days staring blankly at the wall.”

37. Earthworms leave the soil near wind turbines “seagulls no longer follow the plough in areas near wind turbines. It has been suggested that the seagulls have learned that the worms have all been driven away and that in that area the farmer’s plough will not bring breakfast to the surface. They must go elsewhere for their food.”  Suggestion is this effect might be as wide as 18km radius from a turbine
